Coronavirus: PM Modi Extends Lockdown to May 3rd

As for the statistics in India, the total number of people who have been infected with the coronavirus have passed the 10,000 mark. As for the death count, 339 people have died in India. Specifically in Tamil Nadu, the numbers have reached the 1,000 mark with a number of 1,014 confirmed cases in the state where 11 people have died. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has confirmed an hour ago that the Lockdown will be extended until May 3rd.

About 2 hours ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has just addressed that the curfew would be extended across the country until May 3rd. This serves as an extension to the current 21-day curfew to curb the spread of corona that has already been implemented. The country and all the people have been going through various difficulties lately due to the lockdown from the coronavirus. The Indian police are trying their best to make sure that the Indian people are significantly following the curfew by maintaining social distancing.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Statement On the Lockdown Extension

Since the the very first 21-day curfew was given on such a short notice, travel has been a huge issue during the curfew period where some people have been stuck in midst of travel. Therefore, this curfew made some people feel as if their family was separated from them. When we take a look at this pandemic from a war-like perspective, the Indian people are acting like soldiers in a deadly war against the Coronavirus. The confirmed cases has been increasing rapidly as India wages a strong war against the virus.

With the exception of Maharashtra, Delhi and Tamil Nadu, it is safe to say that India has successfully avoided the damage caused by COVID-19. As the virus started to spread rapidly, large airports began to test a vast number of people traveling from Corona-affected countries. Although India made some flaws with travel restrictions and initially had a very slow reaction time, India has performed quite well compared to some of the developed countries like the United States, Spain, and Italy.

When looking into the specific State Governments, some states in particular have recognized tons of responsibility against the pandemic. During the Corona curfew, not only have these state governments met the needs of the people, but they have begun to construct separate places or compartments for specialized treatment. Although the very first confirmed coronavirus case showed up in the state of Kerala, the state has brought aggressive testing where they only have a record of 3 deaths in total!!!

The First 30 Seconds Speaks About the Measures Taken By Kerala Against the Coronavirus

For those people how live in the Corona hotspot areas, they need to be more mindful, and must cooperate with the regulations until the curfew ends on May 3rd. It has been stated that the next 1 week is very important in the fight for corona prevention. At present, the country cannot relinquish the full armor of curfew in the war against the virus. Some of the essential tasks will be slowly exempted from April 20 in order for the people to carry on with their lives. However, if the conditions are violated after that little freedom from April 20th, the exemption will unfortunately be withdrawn.
